Elon's inaugural iMedia class, August 2009

Today we greeted 37 students who comprise the inaugural class in Elon’s M.A. in Interactive Media degree.

It’s a truly impressive group. Some are experienced professionals, others are tech-savvy ’09 graduates.

About two-thirds have degrees in journalism or communications, and others come out of digital art, business, biology, philosophy, theatre, English and environmental studies.

Members of the class have degrees from Colgate, Miami (Ohio), Furman, University of North Carolina, North Carolina State, Central Florida, Cedar Crest, High Point, St. Andrews Presbyterian and Savannah College of Art and Design, as well as a large number from Elon.

Today we collectively saw their faces for the first time. In many ways, they represent the future face of communications. Ten months from now, we expect to celebrate with these students and their families the completion of Elon’s rigorous one-year, full-time graduate program.
